So today I went out on a whim and helicopter I have named Fumbles. Fumbles is cool, he is sorta lazy and can only run for about 5 minutes then he needs to nap. (charging personification) But so far a fun investment.
Next on the agenda life has been pretty slow. Figures as I decide to document my life it goes all boring and what not. Plus its fun to try to keep it all clean. I'm gonna go fly Fumbles while I think of how to tell the story of when my store almost was sued by a lady over $50.
The $50 Ripoff?
OK. The story. So a long time ago, about mid May to be approximate, a lady came in. After looking around the store she decided that she wanted to put a picture on layaway. Of course it fit in the price limits ans we agreed on not the one on the floor but the one on the wall. Now after most of the formalities were said, ie: a time frame was completed, and a down payment was established, I rang up the item and she put $50 down and said she will have it paid up in 2 months. About a month and a half went by and finally we hear for the lady. She said "she was getting it as a gift for a friend and someone already got her one" or something like that and at the time the boss was out of town but would be back the next day and I would just let him handle it. so I told her to call back the next day between 3-9pm and he will gladly address the issue. So I come back tow days later for work and my boss asks if a lady called about a layaway.
Me: "Yes, I told her to talk to you yesterday. Did she call?"
The Boss "Yes she did, she was very nasty and at first I asked if she wanted store credit. then she said that all we had was junk. I had no problem giving her her money back until that point. I knew I lost a customer for life and likely sever people she may introduce to the store but sometimes its about taking what you can get."
So later that day the lady came in and was kinda nasty demanding that I give her the store address. This was a scare tactic, I could see it plain as day. she wanted us to think she got a lawyer. the address for the store is the same as the address for the mall. Again this was all over $50 and the fact that we "don't have a layaway policy". Most corporate sores would laugh at this. In most stores if you cancel a layaway you often lose 10-30% of the total purchase as a "restocking fee" all we asked of this lady was that she buy something. we hadn't told her yet but as long as she would buy something we would give her cash back for the difference. And a few days ago she finally came in a settled the issue. None the less the moral of this story is be nice to whoever you talk to you never truly understand there motives until they play out. If this lady would have said that she need the money back of personal reasons or was just nicer overall this would not have happened.
So I'm off to see my lovely Girlfriend, but while I'm gone please click on my adds a million times. If i raise enough money I may start adding "Flight of the Fumbles" videos but I need a better chopper (about $200) and a wireless webcam or something like it. Please click click click!!!!!!!!!
please don't spend $200 on a helicopter. *thats me talking you out of it. hope it worked* :*
